RAW site Friedrichshain: from the club to the flea market
Let’s start our list of cool things to do in Berlin as a young adult with RAW. At night, the bear tap-dances on the RAW grounds (former Reichsbahn repair shop – hence the abbreviation) and the Pope boxes in chain mail. In other words: In venues like Cassiopeia or the Suicide Circus, the party goes on until the wee hours of the morning. Also popular: the Neue Heimat and the M.I.K.Z.
If you prefer a bar feeling instead of a club atmosphere, Badehaus Szimpla is the right place for you. There is a shop for every (music) taste on the RAW site, from minimal to current dance hits to punk rock. If you start your way home on Sunday morning with a heavy skull and ringing in your ears, you can add a little walk through the flea market on the RAW site. There is also delicious street food; perfect to fight the light or “bad black” hangover.

Boxhagener Platz: relaxation in the neighborhood
The Boxi (as Berliners call Boxhagener Platz) is a popular meeting place and marketplace in Friedrichshain. On nice days, all sorts of people romp around in the meadow, reading, having conversations or just worshiping the sun. Don’t overdo it with the celebrations here: Boxhagener Platz is a protected garden monument.
A weekly market takes place on the Boxi every Saturday. Here you can get crunchy fruit and vegetables, juicy meat, freshly caught fish and fragrant baked goods. If you don’t need any groceries to cook because you’re eating in the hotel or in one of the numerous restaurants in Berlin in the evening, you can simply stroll around the flea market that takes place here every Sunday. You may discover one or the other treasure that you have always been looking for.

Clubs & cafes on the inner city ring road: Warschauer Strasse in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
Warschauer Strasse in Friedrichshain is a section of Berlin’s inner city ring road and one of the most important traffic arteries in the district. Here you will find clubs like “Die Busche” or the Matrix Club Berlin, as well as countless bars. Really cool: the relaxed “Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke” bar. Locals and visitors party until the wee hours and sing their hearts out together.
During the day, the cafes and restaurants on Warschauer Straße sweeten your stay in Berlin’s trendy district. You can also regularly listen to street musicians at their live performances at the underground station to shorten the waiting time.
Tourist mile: the Simon-Dach-Strasse in Berlin-Friedrichshain

The street, named after the German songwriter Simon Dach, forms, together with Wühlischstrasse, Boxhagener Strasse, Krossener Strasse and Gabriel-Max-Strasse, the so-called Simon-Dach-Kiez. There are countless clubs, restaurants, hotels and guesthouses as well as trendy bars here.
The Kiez is so popular with city travelers because here the original Berliner meets the hipster, the bourgeois meets punk and the gourmet meets the fast-food disciple. A district could not be more colourful.

Romantic & green: the Volkspark Friedrichshain
The Volkspark Friedrichshain is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists. The facility convinces with very clean green lawns, where everyone can find their place. In addition to singles and couples, families also cavort in the 49-hectare park in Friedrichshain.
If you are looking for a little company in summer or want to organize a small picnic with friends, you have come to the right place. Barbecues are held on the small bunker mountain, the children romp around on the adventure playground, and on nice days, hot games are played on the adjacent soccer and beach volleyball fields. There is also a halfpipe for skaters and a climbing wall for those who want to go high and test their grip.

Burgeramt: more “close to the burger” in Friedrichshain
With the Burgeramt, you have not only come up with a great name, but also a super gastronomic concept. In 2008, the burger visionaries with a passion for hip hop opened the Burgeramt at Krossener Str. 21-22 in Friedrichshain. Since then the motto has been: Beats, Bars and Burgers! Burger highlights of the trendy restaurant are the Mediterranean burger, the chicken peanut burger and the bacon guacamole burger. We think it’s great: The operators of the Burgeramt attach particular importance to high-quality ingredients, sustainability and fair prices. Be sure to try it!
