Germany weather in October – temperature and rain
October is the time of full autumn. The weather shows a relatively balanced course. Only towards the end of the month can autumnal storms be expected in the mountains and on the coasts.
Temperatures are noticeably lower than in September. An average of 9.2 degrees is still achieved, so that the heating has to be turned on in October. During the day in the first half of the month, values above 20 degrees are occasionally possible. In the mountains, however, the first night frosts can already appear.
While there is a gap between the cooler north and the warmer south in Germany in summer, the contrasts change from October. Henceforth it is usually warmer in the West than in the East.
