The summer toboggan run in the Alpincenter presses you into your seat solely through centrifugal force. The toboggan run is rail-guided and therefore particularly weatherproof.

As you whiz down the piste at up to 42 km/h, you will drive through steep curves, a 360 °C roundabout and even a tunnel.

You either drive alone or together with your child. You overcome a height difference of 80 meters.

Summer toboggan run in the Ibbenbüren amusement park

At first glance, the small amusement park in Ibbenbüren, with its fairy tale theme, may seem to be tailored to a very young target audience.

Nevertheless, a real relic with cult status awaits all visitors: the oldest surviving summer toboggan run in all of Germany.

The summer toboggan run has been in Ibbenbühren since 1926.  In fact, a downhill ride comes astonishingly close to a sleigh ride in winter.

You don’t toboggan down the slope with modern bobsleds, but with rustic wooden sleds.

The toboggan run even enjoys real cult status.

In direct comparison with modern summer toboggan runs, it appears relatively tame and has no turbulent roundabouts or steep curves. A descent is a real bargain for that.

This makes the summer toboggan run particularly suitable for occasional tobogganists who just want to remember the fun feeling of a downhill run.

And because the descent was so fun, you might remember it again straight away. And hey presto, you’re no longer a casual tobogganist.

Opening hours: Tue-Thu 2pm-6pm, Sat-Sun 10am-6pm

Address: Münsterstr. 265, 49479 Ibbenbueren

Price per trip: €0.50

Special features: historic toboggan run with wooden sleds, in a fairytale leisure park with adventure playground and bumper cars

Summer toboggan run in the Erlebnisberg Kappe in Winterberg

Some might think that in the Sauerland you can only go hiking and cycling. Apart from the fact that these two activities make every active vacationer happy, the prejudice, as is so often the case, is not correct.

In the Erlebnisberg Kappe you can let off steam in the climbing forest, enjoy an amazing view on the adventure bridge or go tobogganing in the summer.

The summer toboggan run in Winterberg takes you 700 meters past adventure playgrounds, high treetops and a shaky climbing bridge.

However, the adventure park does not see itself as a pure toboggan run, but as a huge discovery zone for active fun in your free time in Germany.

A rugged mountain bike route demands perfect control of your bike and the high ropes course is challenging even for adults with a head for heights.

From the so-called adventure bridge you have a great view over the hills in the Sauerland, but you also have to climb along a network bridge.

Alpine Coaster – summer toboggan run at the Kolbensattel in Oberammergau

Most of the summer toboggan runs in Bavaria have to stop operating when it rains because braking on the slippery slopes would be too dangerous.

The Alpine Coaster in Oberammergau is on rails like a roller coaster and has magnetic brakes that bring the sled to a safe stop even when it is wet.

The attraction is not only the longest weatherproof summer toboggan run in Bavaria with magnetic brakes, but worldwide.

After you have been comfortably transported from the valley to the mountain station with the Kolbensattel cable car and have looked at the beautiful mountain panorama in peace and quiet, you can prepare yourself for a stormy descent.

On a route of 2600 m you go through an impressive 73 curves, 7 waves and 9 jumps down to the valley.

While many other summer toboggan runs run idyllically on the ground between blooming flowers, the Alpine Coaster sometimes even runs 4 m above the ground. Incidentally, this is also very nicely overgrown in Oberammergau.

If the top speed of 40 km/h is too much for you, you can easily brake using the lever on both sides.

No comparable toboggan run stops as quickly, reliably and reliably as the Alpine Coaster with its magnetic brakes.

The Alpine Coaster lets your body pump a good portion of adrenaline through your veins and is rightly one of the best summer toboggan runs in Bavaria and the entire federal territory. But if you would like to go even higher, you can work out on the climbing course on the Kolbensattel.

The saddest thing about a ride on the summer toboggan run – the journey is always over far too quickly.

It is without question one of the most popular summer toboggan runs in Germany simply because of the long ride time of 5 to 10 minutes (depending on riding style).

A chairlift takes you to the mountain station at an altitude of 2780 m, before you catapult yourself at high speed through 68 curves and a 430° gyroscope.

If you go too fast during the fast ride, you will be automatically slowed down to 40 km/h.

Take a look at the longest summer toboggan run in Bavaria for yourself and experience why it is also one of the most popular runs.

At the foot of the Blomberg in Bad Tölz, Bavaria, you can let off steam on two toboggan runs.

The toboggan run called Blomberg Blitz, which can be used all year round, is particularly popular. After the cable car has transported you to the starting point, you thunder down the 1300 m long track.

Since the cars are guided on steel rails, nothing jerks uncontrollably and you can concentrate fully on targeted acceleration and, if you want, on braking.

The weatherproof sleds can not only drive in the rain, but also protect you from the wet with an optionally attachable acrylic glass hood.

6 banked curves, 1 roundabout, 1 twister and 5 waves provide plenty of variety when you reach speeds of up to 40 km/h.

Every Saturday you can even walk the illuminated route until 10:00 p.m.

These characteristics make the Blomberg Blitz one of the most popular summer toboggan runs in Bavaria.

The Blomberg Classic is more traditional. The 1300 m long summer toboggan run has 41 chicanes ready for you and will really upset you with 17 steep curves.

But precisely because every bump in the terrain is transferred directly to the sleds, which are very close to the bottom of the steel track, the ride becomes really enjoyable.

However, there is no need to be afraid of being thrown off the track in one of the curves.

The centrifugal force acting on you will safely push you into the track.

It doesn’t matter how tall or old the passenger is. Really everyone has fun on one of the two 500m long summer toboggan runs.

The summer toboggan run in the heart of Bavaria is not the only attraction in the Pleinfeld adventure park. Eleven rapid curves, three jumps and several long straights await you on the route.

The toboggan run is closed during the winter months, instead you can go skiing in Willingen. Around the toboggan run there are other attractions and play facilities that are particularly interesting for children.

There is also summer tubing. You can slide downhill on special slide mats in the meadow area.

There is a conveyor belt for transport to the top.

In Willingen there is also the lagoon pool in Willingen, one of the best adventure pools in Hesse and the wildlife and leisure park in Willingen, one of the most beautiful animal parks in Hesse.

Address: Am Hoppern 2, 34508 Willingen
